2026 Authors of Color Book Fair, July 19 in Milwaukee

The Authors of Color Book Fair is a free, community event dedicated to literacy, representation, and access, taking place on July 19, 2026, from 1-4 PM CST at McGovern Park in Milwaukee. Hosted by the Carvd N Stone Foundation, this event brings diverse stories directly to the community in a fun, welcoming environment for all ages.

We’re giving away over 300 free books written by authors of color, spanning all ages and genres, ensuring every reader can find a story they connect with and take home.

Beyond the books, attendees can enjoy FREE horse rides, a snack bar, a dedicated reading area, and interactive spaces featuring local authors and community partners. The event is designed to feel like a true community experience where families can gather, explore, and celebrate storytelling together.
